NAVTEQ Advertising Technology Group (ATG) develops a mobile advertising platform that is deployed globally in several data centers. Operating in an ecosphere that includes publishers of mobile content and services, advertisers and agencies, third-party ad networks, and a variety of information and e-commerce services, ATG is at the heart of NAVTEQ's expansion into the exciting world of mobile advertising and location based services.
We are currently looking for a Manager of Engineering in Boston, MA, - Req# 14482.
Responsibilities:
Management responsibilities for engineering staff including day to day resource and performance management, training and development
Work with Scrum Master and Platform Architect during design, development, testing, or release tasks.
Make direct contributions to code base i.e. this role will involve day to day coding.
Work closely with Product Management and Platform Architect on requirements definition and analysis and project planning tasks
Lead projects during design, development, testing or release tasks
Establish and manage department budget
Skills:
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems
MSc/PhD preferred
5+ years of managerial/team leadership experience AND 5+ years of software development experience
Solid technical understanding and ability to actively engage in technical discussions with stakeholders
Expertise is desired with some combination of J2EE, Java, Python, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Oracle/SQL, clustered load-balanced web transaction servers, backend database integration, optimizing web transactions, mobile applications, online advertising
Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies
Proficient in one Configuration Management tool (e.g., ClearCase, Subversion, CVS)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Assertive and persuasive personality, working well in an informal team
